Trivia[]

The site is also known as Family Farm services, named after a farm which is positioned behind the Little Chef.

The services first opened between 1988 and 1992 and was home to a Happy Eater restaurant and a filling station. The site is the newer partner of the southbound services which dates back to the late 60s/early 70s and was home to a Little Chef restaurant. The Happy Eater on one side and the Little Chef on the other gave travellers a choice of different roadside restaurant chains to dine with.

In 1996/97, the Happy Eater was converted into a Little Chef restaurant when Forte (and then Granada) decided back in the early 90s that Little Chef was more profitable than Happy Eater and thus decided to convert some existing Happy Eaters into Little Chefs (other Happy Eaters remained but they were gone by 1997). This was a process which continued up until 1997, the Granada era.

When the Little Chef opened here, Granada were in charge of the chain and one thing that they did with Little Chef was to build Burger King outlets alongside them. Weston on the Green North recieved a Burger King but it closed in the mid 2000s.

In 2011, Weston on the Green North was one of the 10 sites to recieve the "Wonderfully British" refurbishment. Wonderfully British was the follow-on, slightly tweaked version of the "Hestonised" site with slightly different interior finishes, new branding (Charlie lost his tray and instead had his arms open to welcome visitors) and Little Chef's new "grab and go" take-away option known as Good to Go.

In 2012, the Little Chef lost its southbound partner which soon became an Eat and Go after it closed. There are beliefs that Eat and Go at Weston on the Green South will be closing at some point too along with its other branch at Chicklade on the A303 in Wiltshire.
